“I continue to be inspired by the strength and heart of this organization,” Moorhead said in a statement. “It is truly an honor to continue to work with such a strong team and engaged community.”
Moorhead brings more than 15 years of work experience. Before coming to Henry Ford Health, he filled leadership positions in hospital operations and health system strategy at Tenet and Trinity Health.
“Emily has consistently demonstrated her passion for improving the overall health of the communities we serve and the well-being of the team that serves them,” Henry Ford Jackson Hospital Board Chair Martha Fuerstenau said in a statement. “That passion, combined with his proven ability to lead strategic direction and operational improvements, make him the perfect fit.”
Moorhead has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in business administration, with a specialty in strategy and organizational development, from the University of Michigan. She also holds multiple certifications and is a 2022 graduate of the Carol Emmott Fellowship, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing gender equity in healthcare leadership.
Moorhead has volunteered with Junior Achievement and the Detroit Rescue Mission and received the Health Leaders Fellowship Award for Civic Engagement among local, state, national public policy experts.
“Emily is a transformational leader,” Denise Brooks-Williams, senior vice president and chief executive officer of Henry Ford Health’s market operations, said in a statement. “We are delighted that he will have the opportunity to build on the momentum he has already inspired in this critical leadership role, both for the hospital and the communities that rely on us for care.”
