November 27 (UPI) — Paramount+ released its first full-length trailer for it Yellowstone prequel, 1923On Sunday. Western stars Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford as Cara and Jacob Dutton, ancestors of tough Montana cattle rancher John Dutton, played in Yellowstone by Kevin Costner.
Set to premiere on December 18, “the series will explore the early 20th century when pandemics, historic droughts, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression all plagued the mountain West and the Duttons called this home,” the streaming service said in a summary.
The group also includes Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves and Jerome Flynn.
Sunday’s 90-second preview shows Timothy Dalton as a rich new neighbor who tries to woo Cara, but is instead coldly told: “Well, this is Yellowstone. You have no right to be here.”
Later, Dalton’s character is seen telling a confidante (played by Flynn), “I want the whole valley.”
Jacob reacts by telling the local sheriff that “a range war has begun.”
Other famous Jacob quotes include, “Tell the world what will happen when they cross me,” and, “Attack my family, it’s the last thing you do.”
Meanwhile, Cara predicts, “Greed will be the thing that kills us all.”
Yellowstone fans will also see the recognizable origins of the contemporary show’s barns, bunkhouses and main house.
