The new firmware should be available for all devices within the week
It’s the first Monday of the month, and Google’s busy right now: Pixel phones aren’t getting their Android security updates, and we’ve had a full Pixel Feature Drop. But the fun isn’t just limited to Google’s phones, and the company has had little to talk about the upcoming new Pixel Watch models. While we’ll have to wait until the new year to try our thing as it’s fall, there’s a new Pixel Watch firmware on its way to what can be used now, to give A handful of bug fixes.
We’ve already seen Google update the Pixel Watch companion software but today we’re getting a new firmware release for the Watch itself. Looking at the changelog, we don’t see anything in the way of new functionality, and instead have some patches to fix bugs:
- Called
- Fixes and improvements for hands-free phone (HFP).
- Arrangements
- Added single layer support.
- Eye Check
- Fixed an issue where visual issues were sometimes not displayed.
- Fitbit training
- Fixed an issue where the exercise plan was sometimes cut off.
A little low? Maybe, but we’re just happy to see Pixel Watch OTA updates start, things like that. Google says it’s doing a phased rollout for this release, but Pixel Watch owners should see the new software hit their hands sometime in the next week or so.
You’ll get a notification when your update is ready, and by installing your Pixel Watch the RWD9.220429.070 firmware will be running.
