The one-minute ad, posted on the Made by Google YouTube account, is titled “Google Pixel 7: The beautiful game is for us all.” It includes camera features and machine learning capabilities in the Pixel 7. The ad is trying to make fun of Qatar because of the restrictions placed on LGBTQIA + supporters.
US Women’s National Team star Meghan Rapinoe and former Colombian national team captain Carlos Valderrama star in the ad. Rapinoe is known for her support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Google tried to show improvement in Real Tone, and Super Res Zoom features in Pixel 7 camera. Real-time translation, which can be improved in Tensor G2 chips, was also shown in the announcement of the World Cup. While the ad is trying to showcase the Pixel 7 features, it also shows support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The main idea of ”The Beautiful Game Belongs to All of Us,” and the presence of Meghan Rapinoe proves this.
Since the start of the World Cup, Qatar has come under fire for not allowing LGBTQIA+ shirts, signs, and flags in stadiums. An American journalist was banned from entering the stadium because he was wearing a shirt with rainbow colors.
Additionally, FIFA does not allow some European teams such as England and Germany to play with “OneLove” squads. These signatures show support for LGBTQIA+. The conditions of workers and the violation of human rights in Qatar are among the reasons why this country has been widely criticized.
