Google Play Games, an application that allows users to play selected Android games on PC, is being released in beta for the following countries: Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and Australia .
If you are a gamer in those areas, you need to sign up in order to test the Google feature. There are 50+ titles, including mobile titles such as Summoners War, Cookie Run: Kingdom, Last Fortress: Underground, and Top War. Check out the Google Play Games website to see how you can sign up.
Google has lowered the minimum PC requirements to use the feature, giving access to players with older PC specs.
Minimum Google Play Games Beta PC Cost:
- GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU or equivalent, instead of gaming GPUs
- CPU specs: Only 4 physical cores of the CPU are now required instead of 8 cores required before
- OS: Windows 10 or 11
- Reminder: 8GB RAM
- SSD: Now only require 10 GB of SSD storage, instead of 20 GB
Google’s new game feature was first announced in December 2021. It is intended to help gamers easily switch between playing Android games on their mobile phones to PC. It uses the same technology as Android phones, tablets, and Chromebooks–so Apple devices can’t use Google Play games. Users of Google Play games will also earn Google Play Points that can be exchanged for in-app items and subscriptions.
Android gamers used to use third-party software like BlueStacks to get Android games running on PC, but Google Play Games offers an official way to do it now.
