A new button in Photos lets you quickly find similar faces in your library
Google Photos is one of the most well-maintained, and featured, consumer products. The platform always has new features and offers many ways to improve your photos. The game changer about Photos is probably the search feature that lets you browse photos with specific objects, places, or people in them. such as you will find in the text. Google has long expanded this functionality with the option to search for similar results around the web with a shortcut to Google Lens in the image view, but it seems that the company may change the way this works. For some people, Google Photos stopped showing the Google Lens button in the photo preview. But it has been replaced by a new custom search shortcut. When you use it on pictures with faces on it, it detects the people in it and you can do a search for the faces in the picture.

The new button is an easy way to jump down memory lane with related images, but it’s not a new function. It’s similar to the information you get now when you swipe up or tap the three-dot menu in the far right corner. In that menu, you can find more photos with the same people or faces in them. Arguably, it’s easier to just click on the person you want to find on the photo itself rather than on their own site.
In addition to finding photos that show the same person as the one you choose, you can quickly jump to the Google Lens view if you want. As before, you can click on other objects and parts of the image to see if Google Lens can give you more information or context on them. This keeps accessing Lens in two steps, so if you’ve used Lens often, it might be a change.
For now, this new search experience appears to be a limited trial that only some people have. We can only hope that Google will think that the experiment is successful and promote it more, because it is better than alone There is an option to use Google Lens.
