GIBSON CITY – Prairie Central won the championship game by 50th annual Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday.
The Hawks won the title game by a score of 63-42 against Iroquois West.
Dylan Bazzell, Camden Palmore and Tyler Curl scored in double figures for Prairie Central (4-0) with 15, 11 and 10 points, respectively. Drew Haberkorn had nine points while Gage Steidinger and Levi Goad each added eight points.
For Iroquois West (2-2), Tyler Read had 15 points while Sam McMillan also scored in double figures with 13 points. Bazzell, Goad and Haberkorn were named to the all-tournament team along with McMillan and Iroquois West’s Cannon Leonard.
In the third-place game, Lexington defeated Hoopeston Area 72-55.
Ethan Storm led Lexington (3-1) with 26 points while Griffin Hari added 16 points, Alex Thomas had nine points and Michael Olson had eight points. For Hoopeston Area (2-2), Owen Root led the way with 13 points while Trenton Montez and Mason Rush had nine points each.
Thomas and Hoopeston Area’s Anthony Zamora were named to the all-tournament team.
In the seventh-place game, Fisher beat Tri-Point 50-36.
Jeremiah Todd led the Bunnies (1-3) with 16 points while Asher Litman had 11 points. For Tri-Point (0-4), Nate Smith led the way with 11 points.
