Ford Ranger Raptor and Wildtrak V6 wait time reaches one year | Daily News Byte

Consumers can be waiting over a year for a new 2023 Ford Ranger Wildtrak or Ranger Raptor.

Ford has announced wait times for the V6-powered Ranger Wildtrak and Ranger Raptor to hit shelves in the fourth quarter of 2023 (October to December inclusive), meaning those who order now may have to wait anywhere between 11 and 13 months for delivery.

The company cautions the Ranger’s pricing and specifications are also subject to change during that time.

“Interest in the Next-Gen Ranger Wildtrak V6 has been extremely positive and we are now accepting orders for the vehicle’s 2023 arrival,” the automaker said on its website.

“If you order now, your vehicle may not arrive until approximately Quarter 4, 2023 and its pricing and/or specifications may be different.”

Earlier this month, Ford Australia estimated waiting times for the Raptor and Wildtrak V6 ute variants at seven months, after securing more production allocations from its Thailand factory.

Before that, it put wait times at eight to nine months.

Now, the brand’s latest estimate has risen again to around a year, which is in line with the wait times for its V6-powered SUV counterparts – the Everest Sport and Everest Platinum.

Assuming Ford updates its website in a timely manner, the big swing in wait times for the Ranger ute could suggest the carmaker is receiving about a month’s worth of orders each week – or about 1000 orders per day based on current deliveries reported by Ford .

Despite the revised wait times, Ford says the Ranger Sport V6 and Ranger XLT cab-chassis V6 could be delivered as early as March 2023 if ordered now – a four-month wait, or less than half the time of a Raptor or Wildtrak V6 in the best case scenario.

Those who can’t wait have the option of taking immediate delivery of the Ranger Wildtrak, Sport, and XLT variants equipped with a 2.0-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine – the same engine that powered the previous-generation Ranger Raptor.
