How many EV charging installations do Delta currently offer?
We have shipped more than 7000 electric vehicle (EV) chargers to customers in India, a milestone to drive the country’s electronic transformation.
With more than 50 years of expertise in high-efficiency energy technology, Delta has been providing energy-efficient EV charging solutions worldwide for more than a decade. Leveraging its core competencies in high-efficiency electric equipment, Delta has shipped more than 1 million EV chargers worldwide since 2009 and has become a key supplier of automotive electrical systems and power management electronics to the world’s largest EV manufacturers.
Tell us about the EV charging network that Delta is proud to partner with and that the company has forged.
Delta and key stakeholders in the EV charging infrastructure sector, which include major charging point operators such as TATA Power, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd. (BESCOM), oil marketing companies like BPCL as well as various OEMs, have made the installation of chargers possible. .
We have supplied more than 1,000 chargers under an agreement with Tata Power Limited and 114 EV chargers to BESCOM (Bangalore Power Corporation). We have also partnered with MSEDCL and municipal corporations in various states to supply chargers under agreements.
We also facilitate our equipment to electric two-wheeler, three-wheeler, four-wheeler and bus OEMs.
Delta management’s prediction of future numbers in the EV charger space?
In India, we expect the number of chargers to increase significantly next year and intend to increase our delivery of EV chargers globally. Delta India’s R&D and engineering team is working on more native solutions. We intend to increase the local content of our product and solution offering to 80% within a few years.
How does your company plan to stay ahead of the curve?
Delta offers a one-stop solution to enabling EV charging infrastructure, from site survey to specific design, installation and after-sales service. Additionally, Delta is one of the first providers of fully integrated EV charging solutions in India with solar PV inverters, energy storage systems and energy management software to Bengaluru utility companies. In line with the national development initiative “Make In India”, Delta is enhancing its R&D and manufacturing capabilities in India, with more than 50% of its product offerings in the country now locally produced. We aim to be at the forefront of EV charging infrastructure as the demand for EVs will be huge in the future. We will focus on developing green charging infrastructure as well as building end-to-end EV charging infrastructure for our customers.
