Artists and crafters workshops throughout the Brandywine Valley have been busy all year making sure they are ready to celebrate the holidays in grand style! The famous Brandywine Railroad returning to Brandywine River Museum of Art until January 8th for its Fiftieth Year! Learn more about the exhibition’s history in this article: “50 Years of Wow! at the Brandywine Railroad.” Fragile Earth: The Naturalist Impulse in Contemporary Art will be on view in both galleries until January 8th. This exhibition examines the fragility of the environment and our relationship to it through the works of Mark Dion, Courtney Mattison, and others. It includes a site-specific installation and a commissioned mural related to the native flora and fauna of the Brandywine Valley. Don’t miss the annual either Critter Saleheld offsite at Chadds Ford Historical Society from December 1St through 4th. The Christkindlmarkt is back to Chester County Art Association Friday, December 2n.d from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday, December 3street from 10 am to 5 pm. More than 40 stalls will display art, ceramics, jewelry, homeware, and more. There will also be food and live music. Then the $300 and Under Members Show beginning with an Opening Reception Thursday, December 8th from 5 to 7 pm and will be on view until January 3street. The wonder of Christmas celebration is shown in Winterthur Museum, Gardens, and Library this season! This year, a new toy train display presented by the Standard Gauge Module Association joined the festive decor, along with a large-scale gingerbread version of the Winterthur mansion, with trees inspired by those seen in the White House during the Kennedy years. . It coincides with the current exhibition, Jacqueline Kennedy and HF du Pont: From Winterthur to the White House.
