The star (80) called the computer-generated scenes “a bit scary”
The trailer for the action film was released this week, more than 40 years after he first starred as the archaeologist – and thanks to CGI, he could look just like him.
Old footage of the actor is superimposed over current footage of him in his 80s, creating a younger version on screen.
“My hope is, even though it’s going to be talked about in terms of technology, you just watch it and go, ‘Oh my God, they just found footage. This is something they shot 40 years ago. ,” producer Kathleen Kennedy told Empire recently.
Harrison Ford said he found it “quite scary” looking at his younger self.
“This is the first time I’ve seen it where I believe it… I don’t think I want to know how it works.
“I don’t want to be a child. I’m glad I got my age.”
According to the New York Post, Ford told fans at the secret trailer screening that the film would be his last in the franchise.
“This is it,” he said. “I will never fall for you again.”
Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge also stars in the film along with Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Oliver Richters, Ethann Isidore and Mads Mikkelsen.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was supposed to be released last year, but will now hit theaters in June 2023.
Dramatic production halted the film on two occasions, once when Ford was injured during stunts and when a crew member was found dead on location in Morocco in November.
His death was not related to production, a spokesman said at the time.
