A Cumbrian fish and chip van is in the running to be named the best in the country at the prestigious national industry awards.
A chippy van that visits villages around Eden has been shortlisted in the mobile category of the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.
Run by the Angel Lane Chippy, it also caters for events. It made it to the top five after being judged by a panel of experts.
Owner Dan Harding said: “We are over the moon to have come this far. It has been a difficult year and the challenges continue. This really shows the hard work and dedication of our teams to bring the best fish and chip fare to our local communities.”
The National Federation of Fish Friars organizes the awards. President Andrew Crook said: “Mobile vans and trailers provide a vital service in many rural areas and at weddings and other major life events.
“They often represent an industry with customers who don’t regularly visit a fish and chip shop, so it’s great to see these businesses producing fantastic fish and chips and striving for excellence!”
The awards will be held on February 28 in London.
