The submission was made by the DMRC in a supplementary affidavit filed in a petition filed by Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL) alleging that DMRC had paid it only INR 166.44 million on March 14 and seeking a direction to pay INR 4,427.41 the crown.
Justice V Kameswar Rao is scheduled to hear the matter on Friday.
The DMRC said a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Union Secretary for Housing and Urban Affairs on November 10 to discuss the matter pending before the high court. It was attended by Chief Secretary of Delhi, Managing Director of DMRC and representatives of leading banks. It is said that after detailed discussions and keeping in mind the desirability of expediting the matter and taking into consideration the leniency of this court, it was decided to pass early rulings.
“Delhi Government has therefore requested DMRC to submit updated and complete details for consideration of DMRC’s claim and to make a suitable decision to bear 50% of the total arbitration award, being the equity owner. The Delhi government has further informed that after considering the proposals, the same will seek Cabinet approval,” said an affidavit filed by DMRC GM (Legal).
