Animal rioters are thrown out of Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant in Knightsbridge, London.

Protesters said the restaurant was targeted because it was a “symbol of a broken system”.

Group member Ben Thomas, 20, said: “These restaurants charge extortionate prices for animal products which are really harmful to the environment and climate and only provide 1%.”

Mr Thomas, a student, said he was among eight protesters who sat at a table in the restaurant – called Diner – aiming to “occupy” the venue.

He said some members of the group were removed from the building, heckled with shouts of “grow up”, as they were carried out “too quickly”.
