A smart home camera doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Blink Mini offers all the basics for the cost of a few drinks on a night out. It has 1080p recording, night vision and two-way audio, allowing you to use the camera a bit like a walkie-talkie. Blink is an Amazon company, so that means you’re giving Amazon even more data. But it won’t work half as well with your Echo devices.
Here’s one of the most practical Black Friday buys for gadget fans: an affordable, high-capacity, fast microSD card. Class U3 speeds mean it’s almost a match for SanDisk’s Extreme series. And for that kind of money you only get 128GB from SanDisk. Despite the lack of Nintendo character on the front, it will work perfectly with a Nintendo Switch or Steam deck. It is best suited for people who want to check their step count every day, perhaps monitor their resting heart rate. However, there are also decent exercise modes, and Outdoor will take your phone’s GPS signal to map your runs and walks. It’s a simple tracker, but finally competitively priced thanks to these Black Friday deals.
While this profiteer has hardly spent any time selling anywhere near its £150 listed price, £50 is still an all-time low for this no-nonsense Philips shaver. It has three “5D” heads for an easy glide over your face, plus a classic flip-out trimmer. This gold version of the shaver also includes a charging stand.
This year’s Black Friday sub-50 day external SSD deal comes from Netac. Both the 250GB and 500GB versions are worth a look but you’ll always get more bang for your buck with the higher capacity. It has a sturdy aluminum enclosure, and the 3cm width tells us it uses NVMe drives, not the old SATA drives. The USB interface limits speeds to 500MB/s, but it’s still a much faster way to ferry files around than a memory card.
A bunch of Razer Kraken headsets are on sale this Black Friday. The best buy of the lot is the black “standard” Kraken, also known as the V3. It’s a no-nonsense full-size headset with cross-console compatibility. PC, Switch, Xbox, PlayStation – all will work great thanks to its relatively simple design. The boom mic retracts into the body instead of being completely detached. However, this is a closed back headset despite the grill on the outside so you can use the Kraken as a set of portable headphones.
Sometimes Amazon’s deals seem borderline ridiculous. £42 for a perfectly decent 8-inch tablet that will keep the kids entertained and avoid arguments when you can’t agree on what to watch on TV? great The 800p resolution screen won’t challenge the iPad for sharpness, and it takes five hours to charge, but at less than half the price it’s one of the top deals of the day.
£20 off the best Google Smart Stick is a deal that’s surprisingly rare, given how often Amazon’s Fire TV Stick rivals and undercuts the Yo-Yo in price. It gives your TV a fresh new smart interface, adds Chromecast support and includes a remote. If you have a 4K TV we recommend this model only over the HD Chromecast, which is available for £24.
Spend money to save money with a multi-pack of smart plugs. They let you disconnect devices from power on Google Home or Amazon Alexa or using a companion app. Handy if you have gadgets that still sip juice on standby, or want to add a schedule to dumb devices like fans or dehumidifiers. Only around £5 off, but still a bargain.
Logitech’s G Pro series offers some of the best mice and keyboards we’ve tried recently. The G Pro Mouse is a certified deal at £50, and while it’s spent all year near or below the RRP of £90, this is the lowest it’s ever been. It has a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 60 hours and uses a USB dongle instead of Bluetooth. This is a good approach for low latency, but not ideal if, for whatever reason, you want to connect a mouse to your phone.
When did SSD get this cheap? 7p a gigabyte is close to the cost we are used to in older spinning platter hard drives. These drives usually sell for around £25-27. And while not as well known as SanDisk, Kingston is a storage veteran. Keep in mind that this is a 2.5-inch SATA SSD designed for internal use. However, you can use it as an external drive with a 2.5-inch enclosure or a SATA to USB adapter cable.
The classic meat and potatoes deal – a godsend if you need it, not interesting at all if you don’t. Microsoft’s gamepads usually cost £55, and unlike many Black Friday deals they tend to sell for their original price. Right now the white, black, red and blue gamepads are all available from Amazon for £35 and direct from Microsoft, with a yellow version of the Electric Volt also in stock.

Stock up for Christmas with a fairly large bottle of medium-quality, high-alcohol-content booze. Southern Comfort is a whiskey-based liqueur that falls into that category due to the spice and fruit flavors added to its product. This bottle has spent most of the last decade selling for upwards of £44 on Amazon, making it a certified bargain.
