The Downriver League recently announced its all-league selections for the 2022 football season.
Edsel Ford finished the year with an 0-8 record against league opponents. The Thunderbirds finished ninth in the final DRL standings and had one player named to the all-league team.
Honored from Edsel for the 2022 season is junior Jacob Hazamy.
Trenton and Gibraltar Carlson shared the DRL championship this year, each with a 7-1 record in league play, and both teams had six all-league honorees.
Selected from Trenton were seniors Logan Michels, Ty Norgren, Austin Toth, Derek Anderson, Dominick Calloway and Joaquin Maldonado.
Carlson honorees were seniors Ben Przytula, Timothy Simons, Brandon Scheffler, Matthew Hall, Omari Carter and Even Bredow.
Woodhaven (6-2) finished third in the final DRL standings and had four all-league selections. Seniors Nathan Blaszczak, Isaac Perez, Devin Henry and Dominic Davis were selected from the Warriors.
Allen Park (5-3) and Southgate Anderson (5-3) are tied for fourth in the DRL, and each have three all-league honorees.
Selected from Allen Park were seniors Owen Alvarez and Kevin Lebron and sophomore Camden Johnson.
Senior Colin Thomas was selected from Anderson along with junior Chase Barbosa and sophomore Jackson Sage.
Taylor High (3-5) finished 2022 in sixth place and had two All-DRL picks with senior Isaiah Holliman and junior Augustine Ajayi.
Wyandotte Roosevelt (2-6) finished seventh and had two All-DRL selections with senior George Lovell and junior Max Biundo.
Lincoln Park (1-7) leaves with the eighth seed for 2022 and all-league honoree senior Nate Meade Mays.
