Adani Electricity to power Mumbai Metro Lines 2A & 7 connecting Andheri to Dahisar | Representative image
The Mumbai Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has partnered with Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (Adani Electricity) to electrify its two metro lines – Metro 2A (Dahisar-DN Nagar) and Metro 7 (Dahisar E-Andheri E). More than 120 million units of energy will be used annually by these lines.
Adani Electricity provides electricity to more than 31 million homes and premises in suburban Mumbai.
Unlike other cities in the country, Mumbai has a complex electricity distribution structure. There are several electricity distributors such as Brihanmumbai State Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) and the public sector, Mahavitaran (MSEDCL) along with two major private players – Tata Power and Adani Electricity.
“In recent years, places that use a lot of energy such as airports, data centers, hospitals, car networks Underground electricity, software parks, hotels are choosing Adani electricity as the supplier of choice, because of the electricity supply. Reliable and sustainable with competitive tax rates. Customer service is central,” said a spokesperson from Adani Electricity.
“We are pleased to support the MMRDA and Mumbai Metro Buses with our sustainable solution as a key differentiator to help reduce our customers’ carbon footprint.”
