GameSpot held its first game show on September 8th. Named Swipe, it featured a bunch of tracks, shows, and gameplay footage from various mobile games. GameSpot revealed upcoming titles such as Rainbow Six Siege, and they also showed us gameplay updates to popular titles such as Total War Medieval II. During the event, there was plenty to take in, but we’ve rounded up seven of our favorite looks for today’s list; You may see some of these titles join our roundup of the best Android games later this year.
Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle Earth
Announced in May, our first impressions of Heroes of Middle Earth weren’t great. This strategy game features characters from Tolkien’s universe, pitting them against each other in a series of turn-based battles. The screenshot may not appeal to those who appreciated the grit of Shadow of War, but we have to wait for a release date before making a final decision. You can watch the gameplay trailer below.
Survey on Mobile
Back in May, we did a handful of Alphas replaced by Rainbow Six Mobile. While we’re not fans of abysmal touch controls, it’s still a blast to play with. On Swipe, the closed beta has been announced, as well as the upcoming Clubhouse map. It seems to be a true representation of his wireless power, Seige; make sure you choose one of the best Android drivers before you play. Call of Duty Warzone Mobile
The success of Call of Duty Mobile has inspired Activision to create a new game focused on the Warzone genre. While the first mobile game offers battle royale gameplay, Warzone Mobile has created a whole new concept. The first teaser trailer was shown on Swipe, and although it did not reveal much, it seems that the game, in the end, is something that we were worried about in our previous coverage. Call of Duty Mobile’s new season, Train to Nowhere, is now playable.
The Resurgence of the Division
In July, Ubisoft released a three-minute walkthrough of their upcoming mobile game, The Division Resurgence. The game is comparable to the console / PC versions, and the Swipe trailer confirms this. Taking place between the events of the two division games, Resurgence will offer an open world where players can run solo or co-op. Assuming no monetization, this is undoubtedly a game to look forward to.
Small Blogs
One of the best horror games to come to mobile. If you’re not familiar with Little Nightmares, it’s a side-scroll platformer that requires the player to run and hide from encounters before engaging in battle. It’s dark, scary, and a must-play. While you’ll have to wait until winter to see how the port works, you can reassure yourself that the three DLC expansions will be bundled with the mobile version.
Train
Railbound may have been released, but the adorable puzzler is set to receive new content. Best of all, this upcoming experience will be free, and will be available later this year, so you’ll have plenty of time to finish the big game. The new one will bring puzzles and worlds, as well as introducing semaphores to confuse your brain.
Total War 2
Total War ports are one of the best RTS Android games available, and fans of Medieval II will be happy to hear that Kingdoms expansion is coming to Android and iOS. This expansion is linked to many historical events, from the occupation of America to the Teutonic wars in the Baltic. If you’re hungry for more of Total War (again, we recommend giving them a shot, especially if you have an Android tablet), then this will satisfy you. Unfortunately, there is currently no release date.
