Welcome to the 463rd edition of Android Apps Weekly. Here are the top headlines from last week.
- Google rolled out Matter on Google, Nest, and Android products last week. It’s a very big job. Matter is a smart home technology that aims to make using smart home technology easier. We’ve been talking about Matter all year, and it’s great to see it begin.
- Apple may allow sideloading apps on iPhones in the future. Evidence suggests that Apple is working on the feature as we speak. It’s important because it allows third-party app stores and a new side of iOS for users to explore. We have it on Android, but it won’t be an exclusive feature for long.
- Google has announced its favorite Chrome apps this year. There is no adware on it, which we believe is on many people’s favorite Chrome extensions. That said, Google listed Tango, SwiftRead, Liner, Compose AI, Visbug, and checked US Visa Slots. There are other things. Click the link for more information.
- Samsung Good Lock is currently rolling out in other countries. New markets include Europe, North America, and some Asian countries. It’s a good start, but there are much larger parts of the world without it, including all of Africa. You can find the full list of countries in the attached article.
- Google is planning to remove Manifest V2 from Google Chrome. It disables the ad if they do so in time. However, Google is waiting for the release of Manifest V2 for a long time. The company said it will help alleviate some migration issues to Manifest V3. Click the link to learn more details.
Sumi Sumi Club

Sumi Sumi Part is a match three puzzle game. Each round loads a bunch of cute little animals into a box. You click on two or more similar objects to clear them from the board. You progress by completing levels. As with most games in this genre today, there is a lot to do. This is a restaurant sim where you unlock clues by completing levels and using food to feed others. It might not make big waves, but it’s a fun little time-consuming activity that’s also family-friendly.
Notify
Price: Free / $10.99
Notifya is a home security app that sends you notifications when it detects a door has been opened in your home. It uses your device’s sensors to detect pressure changes when doors are opened and closed. In our testing, it seems to work very well. The developers say that it will work on most new smartphones, and is compatible with Google Assistant. The developers are taking comments on this Reddit thread if you want to check that out. They mentioned adding things like IFTTT or Telegram bot support as well.
It’s a bit pricey for the full version, and it’s still in beta right now, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen a home security software release.
Ninja must die
Price: Play for free
Ninja Must Die is a side-scroller with some action games. You defeat enemies, avoid obstacles and defeat bosses. The player can access various melee and abilities to help you along the way. The game plays fast, which we think is part of the beauty. It’s not very difficult, so you can just play the game and enjoy it without any distractions. It’s a free game, so there are microtransactions. They’re not bad, so they won’t affect your game much.
Breathing
Price: Free trial / $8.99 per month / $48.99 per year
Breathwrk is a meditation app and one of Google’s picks for the best Google Play apps from 2022. The app helps users monitor their breathing to help relieve stress, such as including anxiety, sleep problems, and depression. As with all mental health programs, your mileage will vary as different results work for different people. In terms of usage, the app looks and feels great. You can participate in various exercises to help you deal with the things that are causing you trouble. The only thing we’re not happy about is the subscription. You get a 7-day free trial, but otherwise you don’t have to pay for it in order to use it properly. However, if it works, it may be worth the price.
Vampire Survive
Price: Freedom
Vampire Survivors, according to the developers, is a roguelite survival RPG. Players play from a top-down perspective. They are exploring the game world as hundreds of bad guys come at them almost all the time. Playing the game is easy. You use attacks to kill enemies and movement to avoid things. There are a few neat options such as being able to choose between different types of photos or landscapes. A nice little arcade game. The best part is the price. The game is free without any in-app purchases, and we think it’s good to see good games that come out for free.
