You might be listening to it in an airport or on a bus or in a car crammed between your younger sisters who can’t sit still. Sorry. I’m just reliving my happy memories there. The point is, millions of people start heading home after Thanksgiving and the weather can make things a little tricky this weekend. Rain is expected across the Northeast and Midwest. More snow is on the radar for parts of the Pacific Northwest. And Texas is dealing with both. It remains to be seen how air travel will be affected, but it will certainly be busy. CNN’s transport correspondent Pete Muntean crunches the numbers.

The TSA screened 1.4 million people at airports across the country on Thanksgiving Day. This is the lowest number we have seen since February. But look at the day before, 2.46 million people were screened by the TSA at airports across the country. That number is just 6% off the same day in 2019 before the pandemic and just shy of a record for air travel during the pandemic. Now, the question is, will Sunday beat the record during the pandemic and reach the all-time air travel record when the TSA screened 2.8 million people at airports across the country the Sunday after Thanksgiving in 2019?

The Georgia Senate runoff election begins in earnest today. Early voting begins in many counties after the Georgia Supreme Court refused to block them from offering it earlier this week. Three Republican committees filed a court challenge saying early voting on the Saturday after Thanksgiving violated state law. Democrats argued that would confuse voters. And remember the stakes here if incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock prevails over Republican Herschel Walker. Democrats would have two seats in the Senate and would not have to rely on the vice president to swing votes in their favor. Former President Barack Obama will campaign with Warnock next week before Election Day on December 6.

Now that former President Donald Trump is officially running for president again, there will be extra attention on who he will meet. Look what happened just this week. Trump sat down with Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and rapper Kanye West at Mar a Lago. CNN’s Maeve Reston has more.

In the video posted on Twitter on Thursday. He said Trump was really impressed with Fuentes. But a source familiar with the dinner told our Kristen Holmes that Fuentes was a guest of Kanye and was not invited by the former president. And I just want to read to you the former president’s statement on this social untruth. He said, “This past week, Kanye West called me to have dinner at Mar a Lago. Soon after, he suddenly showed up with three of his friends that I didn’t know. We had dinner on Tuesday night with a lot of members in the back patio. Dinner was quick and uneventful. Then they left for the airport.”

Trump said he did not know Fuentes and said he got along well with West, who, it should be noted, has not expressed anti-Semitism in recent weeks. West has made many anti-Semitic statements. Many companies he was affiliated with have severed ties. Fuentes has been labeled a white supremacist by the Anti-Defamation League and was at the Capitol on January 6th.

SpaceX will give it another shot. The company will try again to deliver supplies to the International Space Station today. Bad weather forced the company to scrub its launch on Tuesday. Supplies range from new solar panels to dwarf tomato seeds, which will be grown on board. SpaceX says this has been their busy year so far. It has had 50 operations so far, including two astronaut missions. If the weather is disrupted again today, another launch window will open tomorrow afternoon.

Ford has recalled 520,000 SUVs in the US due to fire hazards. Recent Bronco Sport and Ford Escape models are affected. Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said potential cracks in the fuel lines could cause fires under the hood in some vehicles. Now, Ford says this is likely a rare scenario. It is only aware of 20 fires connected to the issue and says owners do not need to stop driving the vehicle. Dealers will need to install a software update to determine if the issue is present. A warning light and reduced engine power will alert drivers to call for service. A pipe that removes leaking fuel from the hot surface and the vehicle will also be installed at no cost to the owners.
